Why not join us over the school holiday weekends in July and August for our Summer of Fun programme of events. 18-19 July - Summer Fun begins with Mon FM 25-26 July - History Talk & Walk on the pier in both Welsh & English 2pm and 4pm 1-2 August - Crabbing Competition for children 2-4pm 8-9 August - Busking Weekend 16 August - Paws Party 2-4 pm Bring you favourite four-legged friend for a Dog Parade with prizes for Best Dog Fancy Dress and Waggiest Tail! 22-23 August - Art Weekend with creative activities 2-4pm 30-31 August - Children’s Fun Days from 12pm with magician (30/8), treasure hunt, children’s games and much more! Grand Raffle prize draw will take place on 31 August. Prizes include a stay at the Pier Master’s House, an original painting of the pier by local artist Pete Jones, hampers and vouchers for local restaurants. First Wedding to be Held on Bangor Pier

Imagine the magic of a marriage ceremony on Bangor Garth Pier– a wonderfully unique experience for a bride and groom to treasure forever with the best views in North Wales of the Menai Strait, Anglesey and Eryri (Snowdonia) from our beautiful Grade II* listed heritage gem. The Friends of Bangor Garth Pier are delighted to announce that the dream is coming true for Nicky Eccles and Sean Kelly, who will be the first couple to be married on Bangor Pier on 19th September. A chance meeting in May at the Pier’s 130th Anniversary celebrations with one of the trustees, where Nicky asked whether a wedding would be possible on the pier, led to three months of intense preparations. This included applying for the licence through Gwynedd Council and the registrars, who were supremely helpful, visiting the pier to see if the venue was suitable. With all the official and legal documents in place, it was all systems go to try to arrange a wedding in just 12 weeks! Nicky and Sean are hoping that the...
