Weddings on the Pier
Imagine the magic of a marriage ceremony on Bangor Garth Pier– a wonderfully unique experience for you and your guests to treasure forever with the best views in North Wales of the Menai Strait, Anglesey and Eryri (Snowdonia) from our beautiful Grade II* listed heritage gem.
We can offer both inside and outside options, micro weddings or larger events and we would be delighted to be part of your special occasion.
We will be happy to discuss with you any individual requirements that will make your wedding day extra special. Civil Ceremonies at Bangor Garth Pier can be held outside on the deck, in The Pavilion café or in one of the two look-out kiosks at the pier head. There are facilities for drinks and canapes at The Pavilion café after the ceremony. A fully licenced bar can be available by request.
Arrange your wedding breakfast in The Pavilion or at the local pub, the Tafarn y Garth, just a stone’s throw from the pier.

The date and content of the ceremony must be agreed upon with the Registrar before we can accept a final booking.
If inside the wedding party and guests (wedding groups of up to sixty people can be seated in the Pavilion) will be greeted on the day by one of the pier trustees and one of the team from The Pavilion. They are then met there by the Registrar who will spend a few minutes talking to the Bride and Groom before the ceremony.
After the ceremony, there is time for photographs to take in the amazing views from the pier and light refreshments which could include traditional seaside options of mini fish & chip portions and ice-creams.
Golf buggies can be arranged for transporting the bride and groom as no vehicles are allowed on the pier itself. Your wedding car can drop you off and meet you at the pier gates.
Make a stay at the pier part of the event: the bride and her party can stay the night before or the bride and groom can begin their honeymoon by the pier at the Pier Master’s House by the pier gates, which sleeps up to 6 and has amazing views over the water. Find out more.
