Local artist and friend of the pier Pete Jones presented an original painting of the pier at sunrise to FBGP Chair Avril Wayte, as the beginning of the celebrations for the pier’s 130th anniversary this year.
The painting depicts the pier at sunrise and will be a prize in the FBGP Grand Summer raffle. Prints will be made of the image and will be available to purchase alongside other merchandise depicting the image at the FBGP shop on the pier from May 17th.
Said Avril Wayte Chair of Friends of Bangor Garth Pier, “Local artist Pete Jones has a lifelong love of our fabulous Garth Pier and demonstrated this in the best possible way by creating an amazing artwork of a sunrise over the pier and donating it to our charity.
It will enable us to raise money for pier restoration, in this our pier’s 130th year. One lucky ticket holder will win it in our Grand Raffle with tickets for sale from May 17th. Prints and merchandise will also be available to purchase from our pier shop.”
