From April 1st, pier entrance charges will increase, as decided by Bangor City Council, who own the pier.
Entry costs will increase as follows:
- £1 for adults and children 16yrs and over.
- Child entry will remain free.
- Parking will increase to £2
- Annual passes will cost £10 for locals (LL57) and £20 for out of area visitors.
- Lifetime passes will no longer be available to purchase but existing passes will still be honoured.
Said Avril Wayte Chair of the Friends of Bangor Garth Pier: “We understand that these increases will not be universally popular but please be kind to our volunteers – they did not make these decisions.
“Pier maintenance is increasingly challenging and expensive which is why these increases have reluctantly been decided upon by the Assets Committee of Bangor City Council.
We would like to thank you for your continuing understanding and support.”
