Light Painting with the Llŷn Peninsula Light Painters Saturday 23rd March 7 – 10 pm

Volunteers Paint the Pier!

Volunteers Paint the Pier!

More than 40 volunteers, including many from the Friends of Bangor Garth Pier, joined the Mayor of Bangor’s Paint the Pier weekend at the end of April. Blessed with dry weather and armed with paint and brushes the volunteers painted the gates, the railings, the green benches and the boards at the edge of the pier up to the first kiosks. Many visitors on the pier remarked on the immediate brilliant transformation. It is amazing what can be achieved in a relatively short time with willing workers. Said the Mayor Cllr Elin Walker Jones on Facebook:- “It was a fantastic weekend painting the pier! The weather was great too! Thanks to all who gave their time to transform the pier - Friends of Bangor Garth Pier and many other friends old and new! Thanks to Chris Jere Tafarn y Garth for the lovely fish and chip lunch! Thanks to North Wales Recovery Communities, MPCT - great work!”
