Come to the Pier to Watch the Fireworks on November 5th!
Bangor City Council’s FREE fireworks display returns to Beach Road Playing Field on Thursday 5 November, bringing a much-loved family tradition back to its familiar home after 2 years at the pier. You can watch the display from from Garth Pier! The pier will open late for the occasion, with The Pavilion and other kiosks staying open for hot food and drinks while you enjoy the fireworks across the water. Beach Road Playing Field, Bangor Event opens at 6pm Fireworks start at 7pm Normal admission applies on the pier There’ll be food and refreshments to enjoy before the display, including burgers, a hog roast, hot drinks, doughnuts and sweets at Beach Road. Wrap up warm, get those wellies ready and bring the family! Please walk if you can, allow plenty of time to arrive and park considerately. The car park at the pier will be closed.

First Wedding to be Held on Bangor Pier
Imagine the magic of a marriage ceremony on Bangor Garth Pier– a wonderfully unique experience for a bride and groom to treasure forever with the best views in North Wales of the Menai Strait, Anglesey and Eryri (Snowdonia) from our beautiful Grade II* listed heritage gem. The Friends of Bangor Garth Pier are delighted to announce that the dream is coming true for Nicky Eccles and Sean Kelly, who will be the first couple to be married on Bangor Pier on 19th September. A chance meeting in May at the Pier’s 130th Anniversary celebrations with one of the trustees, where Nicky asked whether a wedding would be possible on the pier, led to three months of intense preparations. This included applying for the licence through Gwynedd Council and the registrars, who were supremely helpful, visiting the pier to see if the venue was suitable.
